After School Ski and Snowboard Program Founded in 1992 with volunteers, the program is a valley-wide effort to involve youth in skiing and snowboarding. Individual schools and districts have pre-selected program dates consisting of 3 or more visits. Volunteers are essential to the success of the program. This program is currently being developed according to a model provided by the ski and snowboard program. Basically, we're looking to provide fun, constructive, and affordable access to rock climbing under the guidance of experienced coaches. Students must be at least 5th grade and not older than 8th grade. We prefer to work with students who are already introduced to the sport and willing to commit to at least two months (one session per week). This program provides a basic foundation for young athletes and will help prepare students for the upcoming OHSCL. MENTORING/STUDENT PROJECTS AND BENEFITS This program works to identify opportunities for mentoring and service learning. All ages and walks of life are invited to participate. The opportunities are diverse and depend on individual needs and circumstances. Please contact Mica Cardillo, info@aycp.org or (541)840-7245 to get involved. |
